Hello, and welcome to Merker 4.0! I'm Bálint Gáspár, the creator of this site. I'm an automation engineer with strong focus on industrial software, PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems and the growing intersection between automation and modern software development.

I am an Electrical Engineer specialized in Control Engineering, with a particular focus on software development. This enabled me to quickly gain experience in several industries including food, water treatment, metal and defense. I took part in various projects ranging from intralogistics system development and commissioning to large scale MES implementations. I'm passionate about making a positive and lasting impact, and this is why I find industrial automation fulfilling.

About Merker 4.0

Over the years, I have realized that as engineers, our job is not to build systems from scratch. Rather, it is to meet customer needs by customizing existing building blocks and integrating them into systems. In this way, we can deliver reliable and useful solutions while bridging the gap between technological innovation and reality.

Merker 4.0 is supposed to help navigating the landscape of industrial software in the era of Industry 4.0. Here, I will collect existing solutions and their use cases, as well as share my own experiences and insights. I hope you will find the content inspiring and helpful!
